Robot cells Print

Robot cells are a flexible variant for the automation of machine tools. Promot robot cells are assembled from components of our standardised modular system. The robots are supplied by our partners Kuka, Fanuc and Motoman.

Kuka  Fanuc Motoman

Promot completes or supplements the cell by adding the following components...

-  Base frame (protective devices, guards, steps, doors,...)
-  Motion modules
-  Articluated robots
Robot superstructures (energy trailing installations, protective sheathing, valve blocks,...)
-  Grippers (incl. joining aids, collision protection, sensors,...)
-  Workpiece magazines
-  Auxiliary stations (camera systems, marking units,...)
-  Electrical system and control system (additional PLC,...)
-  Software
-  Documentation (CE declaration,...)

A few examples of robot cell applications can be found below...

Robot cell RZ-FR

Robot cell RZ-FR.

A buckling-arm robot from Kuka with dual gripper picks up the ring gears from the Promot WS-FR accumulating conveyor and loads or unloads a gear cutting machine. Thanks to the dual gripper, a workpiece change time of 6.5 seconds is achieved. The grinding wheel is profiled at the same time during loading.

Robot cell RZ 16Robot cell RZ 16 (single machine).

A horizontal machining centre is loaded/unloaded from the front side via a robot cell. The workpieces are transported via feeding and delivery conveyors. The whole cell is fitted with a bottom trough and gratings.
Access for setting-up or manual operations is provided via a door on the side. Control system and control cubicle are integrated into the cell.

Robot cell RZ 60Robot cell RZ 60 (several machines).

A buckling-arm robot loads/unloads the accumulating conveyors of three vertical turning machines. The workpieces are held in containers and are conveyed through the cell on a continuous conveyor. The cells also integrates a measuring machine, which is similarly loaded via a robot.

LeanLine robot cell RZLeanLine robot cell RZ.

The LeanLine robot cell is assembled from components of a standardised module system for robot cells and is characterised by its relatively high permissible workpiece weights and by straightforward workpiece magazines.

Robots on linear unitRobots on linear unit.

The illustration shows an example for a linear arrangement of the machines and the traversing motion of the robot on a Promot linear unit as an example.
Assuming an adequate gripping length, individual machines can be guarded for manual operation while the remaining machines continue to run in the automatic mode.

Promot JetPromot-Jet (ceiling mounted robot).

Comparable to installation of the robot on a linear unit on the floor, it is also possible to install the robot on a ceiling gantry. To this end, special linear slides have been designed for the mounting of buckling-arm robots.

EntgratroboterzelleDeburring cell EZ-SL.

The Promot EZ-SL deburring robot cell can be used for deburring by a robot where space is particularly restricted. The workpiece is centred and picked up precisely by way of the gripper and an additional alignment station.
The robot with the workpiece presents the contour to be deburred as it traverses along the fixed deburring spindle. The deburring spindle is mounted in its bearings such that it is deflected in case of excessive pressure.
If different tools are required, up to three spindles can be arranged side by side.
